Excimer Laser MEL 80 capabilities

Every patient deserves the best! Accordingly it is infallible to execute every patient's and his/her eye peculiarities suitably with laser procedure method, which gives him/her the best possible visual acuity.

CRS-Master with WASCA Analyzer and Atlas 995 topographer form the most modern diagnostic association and give us the possibility to perform the following treatment options with MEL 80 eximer laser:

Standard SCA is the method for conventional refraction correction without the use of topography or wavefront data.

Wavefront-guided treatment the base of ablation profile is laser's digitally to computer sent data of wavefront analysis. Wavefront analyzer measures the eye 25-50 times more detailed than spectacles or contact lens measuring tools or corneal topographer. It is often the optimum method for a healthy eye, which has not been operated before. It is also primary choice for eye with higher order optical aberrations. It is suitable for patients, whose refraction errors are between +3 to -8 diopters and astigmatism is up to ± 6 diopters.

For topography-guided treatment base of ablation profile is laser's digitally to computer sent data of exact map of cornea. It is usually the optimum method for having the best result with an eye, which cornea is very uneven or operated before. It is suitable for patients, whose refraction errors are between +6 to -12 diopters and astigmatism is up to ±6 diopters.

The larger the refraction error is, the more it is necessary to remove corneal tissue to correct it. Depending on the correction magnitude and thickness of cornea, we can use:

Aberration Smart Ablation (ASA) is wavefront optimized ablation profile, with which cornea's natural, round shape is maximally maintained. It is suitable for patients, whose refraction deficiency stays between + 6 to -12 diopters and astigmatism is up to ± 6 diopters.

Tissue Saving Ablation (TSA) is ablation profile, with which corneal tissue is maximally maintained. It is indicated for patients with thin cornea or with very high refractive error.
